You can help me land a speaking gig at SXSW Interactive in March 2010.

This year, I submitted two topics for consideration for the popular South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive conference.  If selected, I’ll be presenting at the annual conference in Austin, TX in March 2010.

There are over 2,200 topics in competition for approximately 80 slots over the 5 day conference. Statistically, my chances are slim, but I’m hopeful that one of my topics will resonate with people and I’ll make it through the selection process.

I’m asking YOU to help me out. Yes, you.

Even if you are not currently planning to attend SXSW Interactive, you can vote for topics (in their language, panels). You must create an account (a simple form), and confirm your account through an email. Then, you can vote on the panels.

Community voting counts for 30% of the selection process. The voting period runs from Monday, August 17 through Monday, September 7. During this time, you will see me send out requests to my community for your support in this process. Thanks in advance to those of you who will take a few minutes to vote. And thanks to those of you who will patiently see my several requests during this period without the word “spam” ever crossing your mind.

My SXSW Panel Topics

Here are the details about each of my topics. I’ve included the short description here. If you click on the link, you will also see the ten questions I will answer in each session.

Reach Your Diverse Audience With A Persona Strategy

As your social media community grows, you must rethink your initial persona decisions. It’s a challenge to speak to a diverse audience for business (customers, vendors, peers, competitors) or personal (friends, co-workers, bosses, relatives) accounts. A persona strategy maps your communication to each audience segment and improves your effectiveness.
